Students went wild!
A Valley school district suspends even expels some jazz band students after a trip to a national competition.
Kerman Unified officials say several of the 26 Kerman High School Jazz Band members used the trip to get drunk and pass out pain killers.
Officials say the students were eating oranges laced with vodka, and taking prescription drugs like Vicodin.
Rozanne Hernandez's daughter, Alysia Aguayo, went on the trip, and was one of the students suspended.
Rozanne Hernandez says, "My daughter was offered a slice of orange. She did not know what was in it, and because she admitted to that, she was placed on a five-day suspension and placed on a behavior contract."
Hernandez is now appealing the district's decision.
She says her daughter was just naive.
Kerman Unified authorities say typically, for a first offense like drinking alcohol at a school event, it's a five-day suspension.
But when you throw drugs into the mix, a student can get expelled.
They add their investigation is ongoing and more students could face disciplinary action.
