FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
"Think about everything you need to run a church on a Sunday morning. They're all in rolling cases," Associate Pastor of Legacy Church Andy White said standing next to white trailer, large enough to hold a small car.
Inside the trailer is what White calls "God's stuff."
"Children's church, everything for the sound system and the lighting," he said, listing off the things that fit inside.
But apparently 'God's stuff' is a 'good get' for some crooks.
"Everywhere on this trailer it says 'church' on it. So you'd have to have to turn something off in your mind to be able to steal something from a church. And you know, nothing is sacred anymore," White said.
Every Sunday, White and others load this trailer full of equipment and head to Ahwahnee Middle School where more than 200 people turn out for services.
But last Thursday White noticed someone had gotten to the trailer before them, taking the only things inside, a piano and projection screen.
"That was about $2,500 worth of equipment," he said.
But this isn't the first time the trailer has been a target.
Thieves broke in about four months ago and nabbed $25,000 worth of equipment.
Before that, they hit the church office.
"I end up spending my time replacing equipment and not being a pastor to people," White said.
Even so, White remains level-headed.
"I think it's just an opportunity and people are desperate. I actually worry more about those people than I do about the equipment because it's God's stuff and God doesn't like his stuff being messed with," White said.
White adds he's forgiven the thieves for stealing the stuff and there are no hard feelings.
He even says, if they just bring it back, he won't press charges.
