Hanford School Can Win $20,000 With Your Help

HANFORD, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Hanford junior high teacher is a finalist in a Comcast SportsNet contest

If she wins the most votes, her school gets $20,000.

April Silva teaches seventh and eighth grade at John F. Kennedy Junior High School in Hanford.

Ms. Silva encourages students to volunteer their time in their community.

She's now a finalist for the 2012 All-Star Teacher Award.
