CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -
The Clovis Democratic Club is crying foul.
The group claims the Clovis Chamber of Commerce deliberately put its booth far away from the foot traffic at the recent Big Hat Days event.
Democrats say it's not the first time.
A spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce says sorry but no harm intended.
Fran Blackney says, "Our rules are set, it is first come first serve with our applications and I don't understand why they are upset, a lot of other non–profits were along 4th street."
Democrat Lucy Elgin says, "It is their right to put us wherever they want to but we appealed to them on the fact don't you want to be fair."
Blackney says just last year the Democrats booth was across the street from the chamber, and the year before that it was on Pollasky.
The Democratic Party says it hopes to improve its location by getting its application in early for September's Clovis Fest.
The Clovis Chamber of Commerce says what it boils down to is it's their party and they make the rules.
