Big Inning Powers Grizzlies Past Reno

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

The Fresno Grizzlies scored eight runs in the seventh inning Thursday night on their way to a 10-8 Pacific Coast League victory over Reno.

The visiting Aces had taken a 5-2 lead with five runs in the top of the fifth inning. Randy Ruiz had a grand slam in the inning, one of his two homers on the night to drive in seven runs.

Fresno answered in the bottom of the seventh, scoring eight runs on nine hits to take a 10-5 lead.

The Grizzlies then had to hold off a late rally by Reno to hold on for the win.

Fresno is off to an 11-4 start. The Grizzlies close the homestand with a Friday night game against the Aces.
