Matt Cain is now the highest-paid right handed pitcher in the history of baseball. Cain has agreed to a contract extension with the Giants. His new deal will pay him $127.5 million over the next six years.
The 27-year-old was 12-11 last season with an earned run average under three.
Cain has pitched at least 200 innings for five straight seasons, so he has been healthy, durable and effective.
San Francisco keeps Cain and two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum, who got a two year extension in January.
