Senior guard Walter Orr hit a desperation three point shot at the buzzer Tuesday night to give the Bullard High School boy's basketball team a dramatic 54-52 win over heavily favored Long Beach Poly in the CIF Southern California Regional Semifinal.
The Knights got off to a fast start in a game that was close from wire to wire. Bullard led through much of the first half, only to see Poly take a 31-30 halftime lead on a buzzer beater by Joshua Munzon.
But it was Orr's buzzer beater at the end of regulation that turned a one point deficit into a two point win for the Knights, propelling Bullard into Saturday's Regional Championship game.
It came off a long rebound, with Orr heaving the 40-footer into the basket as time expired.
The Knights will face Mater Dei, with the winner advancing to the State Final.
