
FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Olek Czyz scored 25 points and Dario Hunt added 20 points and 15 rebounds as Nevada outlasted Fresno State 79-76 in triple overtime Saturday night.
Czyz's putback with 55.3 seconds remaining in the third overtime and Deonte Burton's free throws with 21.4 seconds left helped Nevada (23-5, 11-1 Western Athletic) clinch a share of the conference regular-season title.
Kevin Foster scored a career-high 20 points for Fresno State (13-17, 3-9), and Jonathan Wills added 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs inbounded the ball with 1.5 seconds left but couldn't get off a shot before the final buzzer ended the 55-minute contest.
The game featured 19 ties and 32 lead changes.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Fresno State women's basketball team had its 12-game winning streak halted on Saturday night with a 62-61 loss to San Jose State.
The Bulldogs (23-5, 11-1 WAC) suffered its first Western Athletic Conference since Feb. 5, 2011 against Louisiana Tech.
Junior Rosie Moult led the `Dogs with 15 points and eight rebounds. The guard also recorded four assists and two steals. Moult made 5-of-12 from beyond the arc.
Taylor Thompson added 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists. The sophomore made 4-of-9 from 3-point range.
The Bulldogs trailed San Jose State 11-6 early in the first half. The `Dogs bounced back with a 7-2 run to tie the game 13-13 with 11:08 left to play in the half.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from Blakely Goldberg and Moult gave Fresno State a 19-15 lead for, which was also its largest in the first 20 minutes. The evenly matched first half saw nine lead changes and the game were tied three times.
Thompson made a buzzer beating shot from beyond the arc to give the `Dogs the lead 28-27 at half time.
The Spartans opened the second half with a 6-0 run taking back the lead, but the `Dogs battled back with a 6-0 run of their own to bring the game within one possession.
Fresno State broke another tie with a 5-0 run taking back the lead with 11:36 left to play. San Jose State returned the favor by scoring eight unanswered points taking the lead with 9:00 left on the clock.
San Jose State took a 6-point lead in the final minutes of the game and held on for its first win over the `Dogs since 2002.
The Bulldogs return to the Save Mart Center on March 1 hosting Louisiana Tech.
