FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Thousands of Fresno County workers are trying to balance new family budgets after the Board of Supervisors cut their pay by 9% Tuesday.
Service Employees International Union (S.E.I.U.) representatives say employees could strike. They're threatening to do it if supervisors won't come back to the table.
S.E.I.U. represents most county non-management workers like librarians and social workers. Their pay ranges from $20,000 to $60,000 a year.
Most of the county's 2,000 other employees already negotiated pay cuts.
County supervisors are taking 7% pay cuts.
Union employees have gotten a raise for the last three years when others in the county got nothing or less.
