FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation says more
inmates are using social networking sites like Facebook to harass their victims
and accusers.
CDCR officials say inmates are doing this by using smartphones smuggled into
prisons and jails.
California
has a law giving people up to six months in jail for smuggling
phones into state prisons.
Inmates caught with the phones can lose up to 180 days of early-release
credit, but no additional time is added to their sentence.
