David Winterstein took a $100 gamble and it paid big dividends. Winterstein, who lives in Los Banos, is the winner of the St. Jude Home giveaway.
He told us that he bought the ticket because he supports St. Jude. Winterstein also likes that his new house is a net zero home which means his electric bill could be very low.
Winterstein's new home is in the De Young Chestnut Grove community in Northeast Fresno. It's valued at $430,000.
Despite a tough economy the Dream Home giveaway was a sellout. 10,000 tickets were gone by 5:45 Sunday night. By the time Kim and Kopi signed off from Sunday night's Dream Home Special, the grand total was $1,001,180.
