Tulare Beats P'Ville, 55-42 in a Great 'Showdown'

Let the high school football season begin. The only place to see live games in their entirety is on our sister station, KFRE CW 59 -- Fashion Furniture's Thursday Night Showdown. And we couldn't have asked for a better opening game.

Tulare held on to beat Porterville 55-42. Xavier Stephens ran the ball 22 times for 177 yards and 5 touchdowns, including three in the first quarter. The Redskins led 49-28 in the second half before the Panthers got it back to a one possession game at 49-42. Stephens 5th touchdown put the game on ice for Tulare. Willie Stallworth (Tulare) and Joe Duran (Porterville) had three touchdowns apiece.
