The Highway Patrol released a report Thursday which sheds more light on an accident that killed an expectant father from Dinuba.

Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies found the body of 24-year-old Matthew Trimble on Wednesday morning approximately 100 feet below Highway 180, about three miles west of the Hume Lake turnoff.

According to the CHP, Trimble was on a steep downhill portion of the highway when he traveled off the road and onto a dirt shoulder.

Investigators say the motorcycle went airborne and crashed into a tree, causing Trimble to be thrown from his bike. He died at the scene.

Trimble left Dinuba early Monday morning to go fishing at Hume Lake. When he never made it back for a doctor's appointment, his family called the sheriff's office.

Dense brush and trees in the area made it difficult for search and rescue teams to find his body.
