Kingsburg's Kody Swanson is on the road to recovery after a weekend crash, but won't be getting back behind the wheel any time soon.
The 23-year-old is out of intensive care after suffering head injuries when his car flipped several times during a race in Indiana, hit the wall, and was then struck by another sprint car.
Swanson was unconscious when rescuers got to him. He had to be airlifted to the hospital.
It happened three weeks after Swanson's wedding, and less than two weeks after he and his brother Tanner finished one-two during a USAC event in Indianapolis.
Swanson dies not remember much about the accident that has him recovering from a small fracture at the left temple and another near the base of his skull.
He also questions if he really wants to get back into a sprint car.
