The Fresno-based flamenco group, Ibice, performed live in Studio B on Tuesday's Great Day.
The group was on hand to promote their upcoming performance December 13th at the Starline Night Club in Fresno's Tower District at 8 p.m.
Ibice came together this year when dancer Jasmín la Carís began working with vocalist Omar Naré. The two weren't interested in creating traditional flamenco with its ruffled shirts and cow-licked hair. Instead, the pair wanted to explore flamenco moderno, a rebellious offshoot that freely mixes American and afro/cuban styles with flamenco.
The group has played alongside bands such as Mad Juana, Rademacher and The Patrick Contreras Band.
