For more than a decade, Fresno Psychic Doreen says people have come to her to seek advice in matters of the heart, "I'm a love specialist."
But, that trend is changing, Doreen says in these tough economic times more people are turning to her for economic advice.
"In the past 3 months, I've noticed a lot more questions from people wanting to know about their jobs, about their homes," said Doreen.
"A lot of people are losing their homes and they're asking about their finances."
Doreen says most people want to know, "If they are going to be able to make it through this tough time." She owns the Star Psychic Center with offices in Fresno and Clovis.
"Right now I'm seeing a lot of people who have lost their businesses, they've lost their jobs," said Doreen.
The Psychic says although she is not a financial advisor, she can offer her clients "direction". "I give them advise about what's best for them, and depending on their energy and their situation, everybody is so different," said Doreen.
She says Fresno's new Mayor-Elect gives out "positive energy."
"I feel very good about her." Doreen predicts Ashley Swearengin will bring about change in the political arena and "point people in the right direction."
But it's going to take time; Doreen predicts the earliest we will see improvements in the valley's economy is December 2010. Although, she says it could happen a lot faster if people stopped worrying. "If everybody can be more positive, of course, I think that will help speed up the process," said Doreen.
As for skeptics who may wonder why pay for a psychic when money is tight? Doreen says for her and many believers, it's money well spent. Readings with Doreen range from $25 to $65 a session.
