"This is Jon Voight calling Jeanine. Do you know who I am? I'm an actor," Jon Voight joked.
Hollywood's Voight works the phones Thursday afternoon at the Fresno campaign headquarters of presidential hopeful John McCain.
The proposed 700 billion dollar bailout and the day's events in Washington were on Voight's mind as he talked with the McCain faithful.
"John McCain going to Washington is the right idea, let's go to work," Voight said.
Up the street from McCain's office, about a dozen protestors took to the corner of Shaw and Blackstone to send a message to the President, Congress and the candidates, any taxpayer funded payout is unacceptable.
"You don't bail out corporations. They scammed people with all of those mortgages," Susan Rowe said.
At the same time, Obama campaign workers are critical of McCain's decision to suspend his campaign to devote all his time to the financial crisis.
"You need to know how to deal with multiple problems at one time and taking a time out is not the best thing to do right now," Mark Torres said.
Back at McCain headquarters, Voight wrapped up his valley visit with a stern warning for members of congress.
"You better watch it, we're all paying attention. We're going to read everything, we're going to look at you guys and you'd better come up with the right solution. So get to work," he said.
We contacted the offices of Valley representatives to see how they feel about the idea of a bailout.
Representatives Jim Costa and George Radanovich say they haven't made a decision because no bailout proposal is on the table.
