Animal Rights Group Claims Cruelty at Two Merced County Farms

Posted:

Animal Rights Activists are claiming animal cruelty at two Merced County chicken farms.

The Chicago-based group "Mercy for Animals" shot hidden camera footage at egg-laying sites in Delhi and Hilmar over two months. According to the Los Angeles Times, the footage allegedly shows workers kicking and stomping on chickens and snapping the necks of sick hens.

The group plans to hand over information to Merced County prosecutors on Wednesday.

The owner of the egg farm told the Los Angeles Times the mistreatment shown in the video violates company policy.
