A man who shot and killed another man on will not face any charges because officials say it was all self-defense.
Around 4a.m. Tuesday morning, a Hispanic man in his 30's was shot and killed inside a home in Fresno.
Officials say the suspect physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend and held a gun to her head.
That's when the girlfriend's cousin stepped in and shot the suspect, killing him.
"The shooter, in this case, a Hispanic male also in his early 30's, was taken in and questioned. He was released and it appears this is going to be a justifiable homicide," said Lt. Herman Silva from Fresno Police.
Authorities say the suspect who died was responsible for a carjacking in Madera earlier in the morning.
The suspect also had a prior record and was recently released from prison.
