Volaris is bringing international air service back to FYI. The low-cost carrier will offer non-stop flights to Guadalajara, Mexico.

The inaugural flight from Guadalajara to Fresno is scheduled to arrive at FYI on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 11:05 p.m.

"Fresno Yosemite and its airline partners are pleased to welcome Volaris," said FYI's Director of Aviation Russ Widmar. "The region is a proven market for international service to Guadalajara. Volaris has had a strong interest in Fresno since last year, and we are confident that they will be well received and profitable here,"

FYI has not had service to Mexico since August of 2010 after Mexicana Airlines filed for bankruptcy.
