Rose Darby brought her 14-year-old daughter, Rebekah, to the Visalia Convention Center Thursday night to hear Bristol Palin's message.

"We are definitely in agreement with her," Darby said.

It's a message Rebekah already holds close to her heart.

"When you have abortion, you don't know, that child could grow up and find the cure for cancer and it's life," Rebekah Darby said.

Doug Laber brought his teenage daughter too.

"The choices we make in life affect us all throughout our lives. And by God's grace, we're able to make the right choices," Laber said.

But Palin's South Valley visit wasn't without protest.

"Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I just don't agree with it. And I'm an American and have the right to express the way I feel as long as I'm not stepping on anybody's toes," Sara Sanchez said.

Sanchez and two of her friends held signs in support of choice.

It's a move Joe and Monica Mendes took personally.

"We've been looking to adopt a child for a while. And we just now found a mother in Georgia and we're here in California," Mendes said. "I don't know what they're thinking. They're not thinking of human life. They're thinking of themselves I guess," Mendes added referring to the protesters.

Tickets to Thursday's event ran about $65 a person or nearly $400 per table.

The Tulare-Kings Right to Life would not disclose how much Palin was paid.

But single Source Speakers, which coordinates Bristol's engagements, says they are paying her between $15,000 and $30,000 dollars per engagement.
