A Fresno man is in custody, after police say he held up a Clovis ice cream and sandwich shop.
Police say 22-year-old Yusuf Pierce walked into the Togo's-Baskin Robbins, at Clovis and Shaw around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, wearing a mask and armed with a gun.
He ordered four workers into a freezer, then pulled out the manager to open the safe. After taking a unknown amount of money from the safe, Pierce drove away in a red Pontiac.
Upon learning of the incident, Clovis Police began a search for Pierce and attempted to pull over a car matching the description of his.
The driver of the car refused to stop, leading police on a chase through the area of Sierra and Price. The car then crashed into two parked cars, and a telephone pole, but the driver was able to get out and run from the scene.
Officers spent around two hours searching the area, and as they were about to end the search, Pierce walked by.
He was arrested and is facing armed robbery and felony evading charges. Police say he may also be facing some weapons charges as well.
The four employees inside the store were not hurt.
