Posted:

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in Fresno on Thursday.

The Governor will be in town to sign an extension of the State Homebuyer Tax Credit.

The legislature approved the extension Monday, which will provide an extra $200 million for income tax credits to Californian's who buy a home between May 1st of this year and August 1st of next year.

The Governor will be joined by Assembly Member Anna Caballero who authored the bill. "A big thank you to Governor Schwarzenegger for his support.  I am honored to join him at the signing ceremony," Caballero said. "I'm happy to see that we were able to allocate $100 million for first time homebuyers purchasing existing homes and $100 million for anyone who buys a new, unoccupied home. The purchase of new and existing homes will liquidate current inventory, stimulate the economy of local governments and bring thousands of jobs back to the construction industry," said Caballero.

The signing will take place at 2:30 p.m.  Granville Homes "La Ventana" development near Herndon and Highway 99.
