A dense fog advisory was issued until 10 a.m. for the Central and Southern parts of the San Joaquin Valley.
The advisory came after the weather service said visibility was less than one quarter mile at many places, impacting rural roads and highways.
Locations most affected by the advisory included Los Banos, Coalinga, Mendota, Bakersfield, Visalia, Hanford, Lemoore, Avenal, Corcoran, Merced, Madera and Fresno.
