18 Juveniles Arrested For Vandalism In Coalinga

Coalinga, CA- A month long vandalism investigation has netted the arrest of 18 juveniles by Coalinga Police.

According to police, a vandalism was reported back on November 4th totaling $26,000 in damage. Police say the damage involved both gang and non-gang related graffiti, arson and the destruction of other properties on a vacant home.

Police worked alongside staff at Coalinga High School throughout the investigation. They were able to identify suspects though graffiti in the residence, as well as photos and videos found on cell phones.

On Tuesday, police were finally ready to make arrests in the case. 15 juveniles, ranging in age from 14-17 were arrested on the Coalinga High School campus. An additional three juveniles, believed to be involved in the case, were already in custody on other charges.

Police say the group is made up of 11 males, and 7 females with 13 being from Huron, and only 5 from Coalinga.

The 15 juveniles arrested on Tuesday were taken to the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of felon vandalism and trespassing. One of the teens was also charged with arson.
