Local CAL FIRE Crews Head To Orange County Blaze

Posted:

Almost two dozen local firefighters are in Southern California, helping to battle a growing wildfire in Orange County.

The firefighters, along with 3 CAL FIRE engines from Fresno-Kings County, and 2 engines from Madera, Mariposa and Merced took off Tuesday evening.

The latest figures show the fire in Orange County now covers 60 acres. The local crews are being sent to help out due to some tough conditions, including higher than normal temperatures, lack of rain and Santa Ana winds in the region.

200 firefighters are currently on the scene of the blaze. The fire is now 10% contained and no homes are immediately threatened.
