Census Hiring For 500 Valley Positions

Posted:

The U.S. Census Bureau is offering a glimmer of hope to those looking for a job.

The agency will be testing applicants on Monday in Porterville to fill 500 positions which will be available in January and the Spring of 2010.

Some of the positions offered include; enumerator, crew leader, crew leader assistant, and clerk. The pay ranges from $11.75 per hour to $17.00 per hour. No experience is required.

Testing for the positions will take place at the Porterville Library, from 3-5 p.m. The test is said to be a multiple chose test, and is about 30 minutes long.

Officials say only 100 people can be tested at a time. However interested candidates can call  866-861-2010 to schedule an appointment to take the test.

Practice tests can be picked up at our local Visalia office at 3278 S. Mooney Blvd, as well as at many local libraries.  The practice test can also be viewed online at www.2010censusjobs.gov

Those headed to the testing in Porterville on Monday will need to take a form of i–d with you.
