
New unemployment figures show California as one of four states to record rates of unemployment for the Month of October.
Joblessness rose in 29 states in October, compared to 22 in September according to a new report by the Labor Department.
The national joblessness rate peaked at 10.2%, while California recorded a rate of 12.2%.
In the Central Valley those numbers were even higher.
Here are the figures according to the Employment Development Department:

Fresno County 70,100 15.8%
Kings 9,300 15.5%
Madera 9,400 13.8%
Merced 17,600 16.4%
Tulare 33,000 15.9%
The report by the Labor Department showed that California has had the biggest loss of jobs over the last year, with payrolls decreasing by 687,700 workers.
