Two "Super Labs" Discovered In Le Grand

Posted:

For the first time in years, two major lab dumps were discovered in the North Valley on Thursday.

The so-called "super labs" were discovered in an almond orchard in the area of Fresno Road and Buchannan Hallow Road in Le Grand.

According to Merced County Sheriff's Deputies, the lab had produced between 40-60 lbs of methamphetamine.

Deputies say the waste had been set on fire in hopes of burning evidence. The first dump site contained around 3,000 lbs of waste, while the second site contained around 500 lbs of waste.

According to deputies, it's been several years since a "super lab" of that size has been discovered in the Le Grand area.
