A public hearing to discuss the proposed closure of a valley courthouse has been set for Thursday afternoon.
Fresno County is looking to close its Fowler courthouse, in an effort to make $10.6 million in cuts.
The proposed cuts are due to the current state fiscal crisis which has left the Fresno County Superior Court system needing to make $10,654,000 in direct cuts, with similar cuts expected to follow over the next few years.
Thursday's meeting will allow those wishing to speak out on the closure and opportunity to do so.
The meeting will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 at the Fowler Courthouse.
If the closure is approved, it would take effect in June of 2010.
