FRESNO - The candlelit cross gives off a warm glow on the cold blacktop where 38 year old Arthur Solorio died Saturday night.

Police say, an innocent victim in what they believe was the latest deadly episode of gang violence in Fresno.

"It is frustrating to know that all the party people who were out here, nobody saw anything," he said.

Julian Perez worked with Solorio.

They were also friends.

"I just spent Saturday night with him, we were actually hanging out till about 8 o'clock. We were playing guitar hero, video games," he said.

About two hours later Julian's dear friend would be dead.

Police say around 10 o'clock a man with a gun confronted partygoers at a nearby apartment, shooting and wounding three of them.

The gunman then ran into the alley where Solorio was walking home from the store with groceries for his kids.

For a reason unknown to cops, friends and family, Arthur was shot to death.

"Tonight we just wanted to remember Arthur," Rodriguez said.

Edward Rodriguez was one of more than two dozen who came to the candlelight memorial to share stories about good times with his brother.

"He was loved, and he meant something to a lot of people, especially his children," Edward Rodriguez said.

And Arthur's friends have a three word message for whoever shot his friend.

Turn yourself in.

"Nobody's brave enough to come forward and let them know, who shot this innocent victim. This father of two a beloved boyfriend. His kids aren’t going to remember him when he's old enough," perez said.

Friends and family are also appealing to witnesses who they believe know exactly who killed Arthur.

They're asking anyone with information to call police.
