It was one stop shopping for thousands of Fresnans in need of food, clothing, health care, haircuts and hope. It was a picture perfect day to provide hope for Fresno's needy. 76 local churches and 65 area organizations thought of everything. There were doctors, dentists, hair stylists, and even bicycle repairmen.
Dan Clark of Convoy of Hope says the event was designed to bring help and hope to people that are living in need and he adds there's a lot of people that fit that category in the Fresno area.
Convoy of hope, a faith based ministry located in Springfield Missouri hosts 40 to 50 events like this every year. It took an army of volunteers to operate the numerous stations. In all there were 2400 people offering assistance.
Deja Pullen dropped by to attend the job fair. She says, "this is a very nice thing that they're doing for people here who really don't have nothing and the families getting clothes and food. I think that's pretty nice."
The Convoy of Hope also served as a food pantry. More than 160–thousand pounds of food was handed out. Convoy of Hope helps cities big and small. In the past fifteen years it has hosted events in 112 countries.
