By Winston Whitehurst

A family mourned the loss of their child Monday night, while Fresno police were looking for the driver who hit and killed him.

Police say 9-year-old Gage Castillo was riding with an adult near Marks and Ashlan, when they tried to cross the intersection on a red light.

A Chevy pickup hit Castillo's rear tire, which threw him off his bike.

A second car hit Castillo, then kept driving.

The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the pickup is cooperating with police.

Meanwhile, investigators are looking for the driver of a silver compact car. If you have any information about the car or its driver, you are asked to call the Fresno Police Department.
