Fire Destroys Home In Merced

Posted:

Merced County fire crews are mopping up an early morning fire that destroyed a home Tuesday.

Crews say they were called to the house, along the 3000 block of Nelander around 3:30 a.m.

Everyone inside the home made it out safely. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

Cal Fire offers this checklist to help you be prepared for a fire in your home:

  •  Check the battery in your smoke detector
  •  Practicing fire drills with your family
  •  Ensuring that your burglar bars have quick release mechanisms
  •  Keeping working fire extinguishers available.
