Schwarzenegger in Merced To Discuss Fraudulent Mortgage Practices

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in the North Valley on Monday; cracking down on fraudulent mortgage practices.

Schwarzenegger will be at Merced City Hall at 10 a.m., where he'll hold a news conference to discuss new laws that increase protections for consumers in the lending market.

They also provide law enforcement with more tools to crack down on fraudulent mortgage practices.

Merced has been one of the communities most impacted in the country by the foreclosure crisis. It's facing one of the state's highest unemployment rates, and is listed as having the 6th highest foreclosure rate in California.
