The Power Fire, which has been burning since Sunday in Sequoia National Forest, is now 85% contained.
The fire has burned more than 329 acres, and has caused those who live or travel in the area headaches. That's because the fire destroyed a portion of the flume that runs between the PG&E Powerhouse and Springville, leaving 1,000 residents above Springville without power for twelve hours.
The fire has also caused officials to close down Highway 190 between Springville and Camp Nelson, due to the collapse of the flume and fire suppression crews working on the road. Officials warn that those traveling in the area should expect delays.
Around 280 firefighters have been battling the blaze, which is expected to be contained by 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
