Sanger Native Appointed To State Appellate Court

Former State Senator and Sanger native Chuck Poochigian have been given the green light to serve as a California Appellate Court Judge.

The three-member commission on judicial appointments unanimously confirmed Poochigian for the 5th District Court of Appeal in Fresno.

That district includes nine counties of the San Joaquin Valley.

The 60-year-old has served as an attorney with Dowling, Aaron and Keeler since 2007. Prior to that, he served in the state Assembly and Senate.

His wife, Debbie Poochigian, currently serves on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.
