A food drive in one valley town, devastated by the drought, drew hundreds of volunteers today.
Employees from Union Bank of California, and the Red Cross, were among the two hundred people who took time out of their busy schedules, to help distribute food to drought victims in Firebaugh.
Organizers say it's their duty to serve the valley communities that are in need.
Firebaugh has been declared a disaster area, because of water crisis that has hit valley farms and farm workers.
"We're asking more participation from the employees.
And, we're actually paying them to donate time to volunteer in their community and they will get paid for a minimum of eight hours of volunteer work per year," said Elaine Genevro, a representative from Union Bank.
Community food bank is organizing the distributions.
Their mission is to give out three million pounds of food to people in need, through October.
