Yosemite National Park - A series of rockslides in Yosemite National Park forces the evacuation of the historic Ahwahnee Hotel.
The rockslides happened at the Royal Arches formation, in the north side of the park.
Guests from the Ahwahnee Hotel made an unexpected move to Curry Village in Yosemite National Park.
About 300 guests were evacuated at around noon Wednesday afternoon after three separate rockslides in the area.
One hotel employee was working when she says she heard several explosions- the last one, the loudest.
"At 1:45 p.m. we hear this big explosion and one of the cottage people comes running in saying ‘The whole hill is coming down,'" said Merilly McCarthy, who was working at the hotel.
She says she saw the rocks coming down the cliff.
"Then this big cloud of smoke and dust, then they evacuated the hotel," said McCarthy.
Geologists are monitoring the cliffs behind the Ahwahnee Hotel.
Park officials say there are no reports of any injuries, just a lot of scared and misplaced hotel guests.
"The actual landslide felt like an earthquake, made the window buckle," said tourist Theresa Jonk.
Wintesses say they saw large boulders tumble on to cars at the hotel.
In October of last year, parts of Curry Village were shut down, after rocks slid on to where nearly a thousand people were camping at the time.
Geologists believe rain triggered that rockslide, which injured three people and damaged nearly a dozen cabins.
Officials still have no indications, of what may have caused the rockslides.
